A Note From the Founder
Stacy De La Rosa
I first started evolving the idea of kidtrip in graduate school. It started as a sustainable parenting blog then became a family travel reference site and finally it landed in the collaborative economy space. My vision for kidtrip is to become a place where parents can connect and support each other during one of many tough adventures as parents ….. traveling with kids!
I have been in your shoes! I have watched my husband push an overflowing Smart Cart through the airport with demanding and tantrum prone little travelers in tow. I knew there had to be a way to make traveling with kids easier and more enjoyable.
I come from a small town outside Minneapolis, MN. After meeting my husband we moved to California and I started my MBA when my first son was 6 months old. It is during this time that I learned so much about sustainability and our responsibility as business owners to be initiators of business practices that account for people and for the planet.
I now live in the Sierra Mountains of California with my two young boys, my husband and my French Bulldog. I work on continuously improving kidtrip every day as it is my passion to be an entrepreneur AND an awesome mom (as close as I can get anyway!).
Thank you for taking time to learn more about me and about kidtrip! I hope you look to us during your next trip with kids!
At kidtrip, we strive to reduce consumption and the burden of ownership by realizing the full value of our assets through sharing our things with others. We work hard to promote sustainable solutions that bring communities together for the greater good of our planet and each other.
Our Sustainability Goals
Sharing has a measurable impact on the environment.
Consider this... It takes 1 gal of jet fuel to transport 100lbs. On average, 1 gallon of fuel produces 20 lbs of CO2. By reducing our travel load, we can reduce our footprint each time we vacation!
On average, Americans purchase 12 million car seats a year! Many of these end up in landfills considering their 6 year expiration date. Click here to find car seat recycling programs in your area. kidtrip intends to do more to create affordable access to these programs.
Our goal is to save jet fuel, reduce emissions and divert car seats from landfills in a measureable and impactful way.
